Technical ability is a huge part of the game, but it's not enough without the strength and stamina to sustain maximum impact throughout the entire match.
Without these attributes, a player will not be able to maximise their potential. Higher-level players cover more ground and operate at higher intensities than others.
Strength and conditioning focuses on improving the players' ability to perform football-related movements, such as sprinting, running, jumping, and cutting.
The most crucial element of player development is maximizing the time spent with the ball at their feet and the time on the pitch.
Injuries are a part and parcel of any sport, but applying good practices and focusing on strength and conditioning can reduce the risk of injury. This is achieved by:
Football is a team sport, but to maximise individual potential, training demands need to be personalised.
Asking all players to perform the same drills at the same intensity can often be too easy for the higher performers, which stifles growth.
On the other hand, it can also be too difficult for players with a lower condition, leading to increased injury rates and player burnout.
